JAMMU, Oct 12: Former Minister Sat Sharma (CA) along with Councillor Nidhi Mangotra started works of a community hall at Guru Ravi Dass Mandir in Pacca Talab area of Ward 17, here today.
Sat Sharma was accompanied by Mandal president Raveesh Mengi, former Councillor Balwan Singh, Mandir Committee president Jagdish Raj and local residents of the area. The works will be done at an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakhs and a modernized community hall will be constructed under the same works.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that this place holds a great significance in our society and it is our prime duty to develop such places. He said that Guru Ravi Dass sacrificed his whole life by serving the society and we all must follow his teachings which allow us to create an atmosphere of brotherhood and harmony.
He stated that during his tenure as MLA, many community halls were built across the Constituency which catered to the needs of thousands of inhabitants. He also stated that Jammu West has progressed a lot towards development and in the last six years.
Nidhi Mangotra said that this was the much awaited work which has been taken up today and said that the pending works of the said Ward will be taken up every soon and wherever required help of former MLA will also be taken to solve remaining problems in the Ward.
She also said that the Ward 17 was equipped with every modern infra and many Centre sponsored schemes were implemented at grass root level.
Rajan Thakyal, Ashok Kumar, Happy, Suresh Kumar, Raj Kumar and many others were present during the event.
