JAMMU, Dec 19: To provide better facilities and improve power supply in areas of Jammu West, State president BJP and MLA Sat Sharma (CA) inaugurated brand new transformer installed at Rehari Colony area falling under Ward Number 25.
Accompanied by PDD officials, Sharma inaugurated the transformers in the presence of a large number of people hailing from the areas. The transformer is installed near Government Boys School, Sarwal.
The work for installation of transformer was taken up under the Constituency Development Fund CDF) scheme of the MLA in order to carry on works for setting up Sub Station as well in which he has contributed Rupees 3.50 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said that it was a long pending demand of the area as residents suffered from acute shortage of electricity and low voltage and many times electrical appliances installed at residences of people get damaged due to short circuit creating a grave problem for the people. He said transformer bearing capacity of 250 KVA has been installed in the area in order to overcome such problems.
He said that the problems of fluctuation will not be a problem anymore and no unscheduled cuts will take place in the area. He stated that the power crisis in Jammu West have almost been solved in majority of the areas and places left will also be covered in the coming days where there is a dire need of installation of new transformers.
The BJP leader also toured the ward with the officials of Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED) and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) as well and directed them to take up the pending works in the area at the earliest.
