Sat kickstarts developmental works worth Rs 4.39 cr

JAMMU, Oct 19: To achieve the target under the mission of Swach Bharat and Swach Jammu, former Minister and MLA, Sat Sharma (CA) started construction works of deep drains/nullah adjoining Kamla Palace (Phase-II). A large number of people including officials of Urban Environmental Engineering Department, (UEED) local residents and political activists were also present on the occasion.
The works will be constructed under the supervision of UEED at an estimated cost of Rs 4.39 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that the construction works of deep drains / nallah is being executed in Talab Tillo area and the areas covered under the AMRUT scheme include Vasant Vihar, Shiv Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Tirath Nagar, Bharat Nagar, Durga Nagar and parts of main road of Talab Tillo.
He said this was the pending demand from so many years and now when the funds are available for the same from the Central Government for many projects in Jammu West, the works for the same has been started so that a proper channelized system of deep drains could be built in the areas in order to keep the surroundings neat and clean as in rainy season, the garbage from the drains comes out on the roads and streets which was a major concern for the residents of the area as it deteriorated the condition of lanes.
He said that people have to be eyes and ears of their representatives in every nook and corner and wherever there is a dire need of taking up developmental works they should inform their representatives so that works could be taken up in the area immediately.
He stated that all 26 wards of the Assembly segment are on his priority and due care has been taken for the development of every ward. He asked the masses to trust him concerning development and stated that no area will be left behind under his tenure.
AEE UEED Anil Sharma, State Secretary BJP, Sanjay Baru, district president, Ayodhya Gupta, Neelam Nargotra, JE UEED Vijay Khajuria, Yash Pal, Jai Pal Sharma, Sham Gupta, Parveen Ghai, Manohar Lal Gupta, Kaka Dubey and several others were also present.
