JAMMU, June 6: Following publication of number of stories by the Excelsior, Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) today revoked its decision of restricting the entry of Langar Organizations to Kashmir Valley prior to June 21 and instead allowed them to cross Tunnel from June 18.
The Shrine Board in a communiqué issued here, today said that the Langar Organizations can cross Jawahar Tunnel from June 18 onwards instead of June 21 onwards.
A spokesman of the Shrine Board informed Excelsior that the Board has revoked its earlier decision in its meeting today after taking up the issue with security agencies.
He said the security of the langar people is the main concern of the Board and it does not want that there should be any loophole or laxity in that and no person associated with Langar Organizations should be harmed.
He said the issue was taken up with police authorities and during consultation with the police authorities a consensus was evolved over the issue and they agreed to press the Road Opening Parties (RoP) in service on National Highway from June 18 to facilitate free movement of langar people.
He said following the assurance given by Police Department, the SASB decided to allow the permission to Langar Organizations to cross the Tunnel on June 18 to establish langars enroute to holy cave 15 days ahead of start of the holy Amarnath yatra beginning on July 1.
It may be recalled that SABLO as well as political and social organizations cutting across their party lines had opposed the SASB decision of imposing restrictions on Langar Organizations to cross Tunnel before June 21. Even the SABLO had warned to boycott this year’s yatra also.
