JAMMU, Feb 1: On the instructions of Governor N.N. Vohra, who is also the Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, a new initiative of “Group Registration” has been introduced to facilitate registration of those intending pilgrims who want to travel in a group comprising relatives, friends and neighbours.
Navin K. Choudhary, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board explained that his office has been receiving requests for Yatra Permits being issued to groups comprising an extended family or those who reside in the same Mohalla / Village and are wish to travel as a group and have Darshan together at Holy Cave Shrine.
Such groups, the CEO explained, are not always able to travel together as all their members are unable to get Yatra Permits for the same day and same route. He explained further that such difficulties arise because the Registration quota allotted to the nearest located Bank Branch may be inadequate for accommodating the demand of a sizeable group to be registered for a given day and route.
Consequently, in many such cases, the members of such groups have been compelled to obtain registration for different available dates. However, they arrive together at the Base Camps of Baltal / Pahalgam and then face difficulties as some members of the group are stopped from undertaking Yatra on a date which is different from that for which they possess a Yatra Permit. To facilitate all members of such large groups to obtain registration for a particular date and route, a new scheme for “Group Registration” has been launched.
CEO disclosed that all Yatris who intend to undertake the Yatra in a group of 5 or more members but are unable to obtain Yatra Permits for the same day and route from the nearest located Bank Branches because the allocated number of vacancies (Registration quota) available with the Bank has already been exhausted, the individual members of such a group can apply together and send their Application Forms and Compulsory Health Certificates by registered post to the Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Chaitanya Ashram, Talab Tillo, Jammu, to secure registration for the Yatra. The Group Registration will commence from March 1, 2014 and conclude on May 30, 2014.
The CEO has advised group leaders to send the application forms, original copies of Compulsory Health Certificates, four passport sized photographs of each applicant, and the prescribed Yatra Registration Fee for such applicant to the above stated address. The CEO’s office, after registering all members of the group will send back the Yatra Permits by registered post to the group leader. The details in regard to the Group Registration Scheme have been uploaded on the Board’s website www.shriamarnathjishrine.com
