JAMMU, Aug 6: Senior Congress leader and Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today inspected 3 kilometer long Deller Pain to Deller Bala road which is being constructed by Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) Department at an estimate cost of Rs 3.5 crores.
Saroori reiterated the commitment to raise the socio-economic status of the rural people as well as road connectivity, electricity, education, health and drinking water which are among the priority sectors in every nook and corner along with developmental infrastructure in the Inderwal constituency.
“Calling upon to ensure completion of the works taken up in Chatroo area by PMGSY in time bound manner”, Saroori asked the department to adopt double shift system for all the projects to accrue more results in minimum time, so that the desired goals could be achieved of prosperous and developed constituency.
Prominent Sarpanchs, Panchs, local Congress leaders and officers of various departments from Tehsil Chatroo accompanied Saroori during the said tour.
Meanwhile, a three storey residential house owned by Ghulam Mohammad S/o Mohammad Akbar Reshi and his sons Mohammad Iqbal and Bashir Ahmed was gutted in fire at village Deller, Chatroo. The fire was brought under control after efforts of local people but till then the house was razed in fire. The cause of fire is yet not known.
Saroori rushed to the spot and interacted with the fire victims and assured them that the Government will take all possible steps for their rehabilitation. He also directed the Tehsildar Chatroo Ghulam Nabi Malik to prepare a comprehensive report about the extent of damage so that adequate compensation could be provided to them.
MLA also announced Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) house out of his Constituency Development Funds (CDF) to the affected families.
