JAMMU, Apr 5: Vice president of PCC and MLA Inderwal, G M Saroori along with Salman Nizami, Bashir Ahmed Sirwal (Cong Distt vice president Doda today visited Bus Stand Jammu and met with hundreds of stranded passengers from different parts of Kashmir and Chenab region and took stock of the problems of them.
The stranded passengers complained about the shortage of food, drinking water and blankets etc. They criticized that no concrete steps have been taken by the Government so far. Mr Saroori gave a patient hearing to the people and assured them that he will take up this issue with the Government.
Interacting with the stranded passengers, Saroori said that BEACON and R&B are carrying out restoration work and damaged stretch of the road in Khelani, Samroli areas are expected to be cleared by tomorrow. He said that redressal of the people’s grievances is the prime concern of the Congress party and “the service to humanity is its mission and goal”. He assured the stranded passengers that Congress party is abreast with their problems and will take the issue with Divisional Commissioner, Jammu so that he would take requisite steps to redress them.
Saroori took the matter with Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pawan Kotwal telephonically and asked him to personally monitor the situation and arrange the basic essential things including free langer for the passengers.
Later, Congress leaders visited Government Medical College (GMC) and Hospital to enquire about the health of various patients from erstwhile Doda district who are suffering from various diseases.
