Saroori asks Congress leaders, cadre to gear up for municipal elections

KISHTWAR, July 26: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Vice President and incharge Chenab Valley GM Saroori today chaired a meeting of Congress leaders and cadre here and asked them to gear up for the municipal election, expected to be held after few months.
While addressing the party workers Saroori said the party needs to be ready for the election to ensure success and take the State forward. “We have to make our party ready so that we win the municipality election with good success and take this State forward”, Saroori added.
“Soon committee for the municipality election will also be announced which will cover all the people from all the thirteen wards of Kishtwar town to look after the affairs of the election”, Saroori said.
Executive member JKPCC, Ghulam Haider Sheikh while speaking has cautioned the party workers against the communal and divisive forces. He asked the party workers to carry forward the historical role of the Congress party to defeat the nefarious agenda of such forces in the upcoming election.
Retired SP and Congress leader Mohammad Aslam Malik in his address said that people have understood everything and are wise enough to compare the Congress tenure and the present dispensation and appealed the people to reject the communal forces, adding the secular charter of the Congress party is appreciated everywhere on national and international level.
Mushtaq Ahmed, Mahinder Singh Parihar, Piyaray Lal Shan in their address referred to the various initiatives of the Congress led UPA Government and the previous State Governments.
Master Ghulam Mohammad Ganie, Haji Ghulam Hassan Mir, Madan Bhandari and Khursheed Dev asked the party workers to be united to defeat the nefarious designs of the communal forces.
In the end, vote of thanks was presented by President JKPCC Ghulam Ahmad Mir.
