INSPIRE Science Internship Camp concludes at SMVDU

KATRA, July 26: The 5-day Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE), Science Internship Camp concluded here at SMVD University Campus today.
The concluding session on ‘Problem Solving and Creative Decision Making’ was conducted by Maj Gen BV Rao, General Officer Commanding, Uniform Force based at Reasi. He inspired the attendees to solve problems in a logical and a scientific manner to arrive at the most suitable answer. The session especially emphasized on contemporary & futuristic issues facing the younger generation.  With a view of engaging the young minds, Maj Gen BV Rao highlighted the importance of out-of-the-box thinking & a scientific approach towards problem solving. He cited several practical examples on how some of the most difficult problems often have simple but innovative solutions.
The talk was followed by an interaction between a team of officers from Uniform Force and the students.  The students participated whole-heartedly in the discussion by exchanging ideas with the team regarding usage of problem solving techniques in various facets such as innovation, research, management & governance. Maj. Gen Rao also released the INSPIRE souvenir on the occasion.

Sharma Vidyarthi, Mineesh Gulati, Prem Singh, Dr. Sunil Wanchoo, PI, INSPIRE were among some of the eminent mentors and resource persons who interacted with the students during the camp.
Hands-on lab sessions, demonstrations, night sky watching, IIIM exhibition formed an integral part of the camp. This has been the largest INSPIRE science camp organized in the country so far; 627 participants from various districts of the State participated.
The camp concluded with a feedback session by the attendees. Certificates were given away to the participants by Dr. Sunil Wanchoo, PI and Director I/c School of Innovation and Community Development, SMVDU.
