SAMBA, Nov 5: District Police Samba today successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing three bovines and arrested one bovine smuggler in the jurisdiction of PS Ghagwal.
Acting on an information received from reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a police team of PS Ghagwal, intercepted a Mahindra Bolero pick-up bearing Registration Number, JK08C-9446 near Naka Tapyal Ghagwal, NHW for checking.
During checking, three bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were transported without any permission.
The driver of the vehicle namely Rohit Chouhan son of Anchal Singh of Haria Chak tehsil Marheen district Kathua has been arrested.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 158/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
All the bovines mentioned in above incident were rescued and shifted to a safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized.
