SAMBA, Aug 7: District Police Samba has arrested a narcotics smuggler and recovered approximately 36 Kgs of Poppy Straw like substance in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.
Acting on reliable information, a Police Party of Naka point Nud, Samba during vehicle checking intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. PB19D/3167. During checking of the truck, approximately 36 Kgs of poppy straw like substance was recovered which was tactfully concealed.
The accused person identified as Kulwant Singh son of Baldev Singh of Mallewal, Ludhiana, (Punjab) has been arrested on the spot and the contraband item alongwith vehicle was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 203/2022 U/S 8/15/25 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Samba and further investigation started.
