SAMBA, Jan 23: In its continuous drive against bovine smuggling and theft, a Police team of Police Post Rakhambtali headed by Inspector Mohinder Pal, Incharge PP Rakhambtali under the supervision of Anil Magotra, SSP Samba and Vijay Pal Singh, Dy. SP (HQ) Samba, today arrested one Mohammed, Rashid S/o Murid Baksh R/o Manohar Gopala Samba.
According to police he was involved in animal theft case under FIR No. 105/2015 U/S 379 RPC registered at Police Station Samba.
Police said Rashid is a bovine smuggler and on June 22 last year, he had stolen two buffalows from the fields of one Harnam Singh Choudhary of Bain Glad Samba. Accordingly, case was registered and manhunt was launched to arrest him but he continuously evades his arrest.
