Samba police arrests 2 bovine smugglers, rescues animals

SAMBA, June, 30: District Police Samba today foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing two animals and arrested two bovine smugglers in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba.
Acting on an information received from reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a police party of Police Post (PP) Mansar at Naka Point, Mansar intercepted a Mahindra vehicle bearing Registration Number. JK14H 8646 for checking.
During checking the vehicle, two bovines were found which were tied in a cruel manner and were transported without any permission.
The accused persons included Mohammad Shaber, son of Mohammad Saleem of Londane Rattian, Udhampur and Shuma, wife of Kaka Hussain of Darsoo Raan, Udhampur. They have been arrested.
In this regard, a case FIR No.166/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to a safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized.
