SAMBA, Apr 8: All claims about Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and promises of keeping clean surroundings are now proving to be totally hollow especially in Samba town.
Samba’s Ward Number 11, which is an area along the Highway is most dingy as all the dirt of the city comes on this highway and the reason is that the drains on the highway are completely blocked.
The heaps of garbage are lying along the National Highway in the heart of Samba town.
All the filth and dirt lies scattered and there is a constant danger of spread of epidemic, but the Municipal Council, Samba is not focusing on it nor is it arranging any kind of cleanliness drive though people living in this area have many times requested Municipal Council, Samba to get the cleaning done but it is not paying attention to the same. The only plea given by the Municipal authorities is that they have no funds to do the cleaning.
A local resident, Bhagwan Das said that our life has become difficult and hell as heaps of dirt is increasing day by day. The garbage of the whole city gets collected here, which no one agrees to lift.
