Samba Bar calls off strike

SAMBA, Sept 7: The Samba Bar Association called off its seven day long strike after a written assurance was given by the administration to fulfill all their demands.
Bar Association Samba was on strike against registration of FIR against its members by police. They were demanding immediate transfer of CPO and suspension of constable Gafoor Ahmed, who misbehaved with lawyers on August 29. Yesterday a meeting was held in the premises of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association which discussed future course of action of ongoing strike. The meeting was attended by Abhinav Sharma, president of J&K High Court Bar Association, Executive members of Jammu Bar and Samba Bar Association.
While talking with media president Bar Association Samba Subash Singh Sambyal said that Government has decided to consider all demands of Bar Association Samba. During its meeting with Principal District & Sessions Judge, Samba, informed that the district administration has decided to consider their three major demands.
He also said that ongoing strike against Police Department will continue till a written assurance is given by the administration for conceding their demands.
