JAMMU, Nov 23:As a part of “Qaumi Ekta Week” being observed at Salal Power Station from November 19 to November 25 and also to promote Rajbhasha Hindi, an ‘Akhil Bhartiya Kavi Sammelan’ was organized at Ramleela Ground, Jyotipuram on Tuesday.
On the occasion, Ajay Nanda Minister of State for Finance & Planning, Information Technology, Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, CA & PD, Tribal Affairs, Relief & Rehabilitation was the chief guest. Ravinder Kumar, District Development Commissioner, Reasi was the guest of honour and Special Invitees were S. Kalgaonkar, Executive Director, Region Jammu, Tahir Bhatt, SSP, Reasi, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary, J&K Sports Council. Besides a large gathering of NHPC employees, their family members, CISF Personnel and Civil Administration attended the function.
Renowned poets of the country, Dinesh Kumar Raghuvanshi, Sudhir Bhola, Parveen Kumar Shukla and Deepak Saini graced the occasion with tickling emotions like laughter, poetry adoring the armed forces and above all satiric poetry on the political system of the country. The poets tried to touch all the subjects including current affairs.
Speaking on the occasion, Nanda admired the initiatives taken by Salal Power Station under for welfare of the society at large in all the sectors like Education, Health, Infrastru-ctures, Construction of Foot bridges, Toilets for schools and above all ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’. He hoped that Salal Power Station will continue to take such initiatives for over all development of the area and welfare of the society.
