Sahu reviews progress on key JSD projects

JAMMU, May 28: Commissioner Secretary, Jal Shakti Department (JSD), Ajeet Kumar Sahu, today reviewed progress on key projects of the department being executed across Jammu and Kashmir, here at a meeting.
The meeting was attended by top functionaries of the department from both Kashmir and Jammu Divisions in person and through video conference.
The Secretary took detailed stock of present status of the ongoing projects, which included water multipurpose projects, major irrigation and water supply schemes.
Overall working of the department and its wings was also reviewed by the Secretary.
The projects coming up in Jammu division, which were reviewed in the meeting are prestigious Ujh Multi-Purpose Project (UMPP), Shahpur Kandi Project, modernization of Ravi Canal and its distribution network of Jammu Division, Tawi Barrage project, Jammu; Naigarh Water Supply Scheme, Kishtwar.
The meeting also took detailed review of Kashmir division projects -Tral Lift Irrigation Scheme (TLIS) Water Supply Scheme Kehribal Ranbirpora, Physical Verification of works executed in FSC, Hokersar Lake and Progress on river Jhelum Project taken up under PM Development Package(PMDP).
The Secretary took project wise review and enquired about physical and financial achievement. He asked the concerned to work in coordination with the respective district administration to resolve bottlenecks, if any.
