SRINAGAR, Aug 20: ADGP Armed, S M Sahai today lauded the professional standards displayed by Mobile Rescue Teams (MRTs) of J & K Police that was headed by the Everester Ram Singh of J&K Police during the Amarnath Yatra this year.
ADGP, Armed S M Sahai said that the Mobile Rescue Teams (MRTs) of J & K Police were deployed at various critical points along the Yatra route worked effectively and rescued thousands of yatris during the two month long Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
He said that the MRTs are trained for high altitude advance mountaineering, search and rescue operations from reputed institutions of mountaineering across the country with an aim to carry out rescue operations in high altitudes during Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra for the safety of yatris round the clock.
“The teams regularly performed rescue operations along the dangerous stretches of the track between Sheshnag and Poshpathri by fixing ropes along the critical road stretches of Poshpathri and Sheshnag for ensuring safety of Yatris,” he said.
Five teams each comprising of 11 experienced and well trained mountaineers commanded by Everester Ram Singh of J&K Police with an overall strength of 67 officers and men under the overall supervision of S M Sahai were deployed at critical points of Pissu Top, Nagakoti-Jogibal, Sheshnag, M.G Top and Sangam.
