Sagar lays foundation stone of model village Pallar

JAMMU, Feb 20: Maintaining that Government has ushered an era of peace and development coupled with democratic decentralization of powers to the grass root levels, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammed Sagar today said that certain parties are trying hard to negate the achievements registered by the present coalition in every sphere of life but the people are aware of the work done for elevating their socio-economic profile and would give a befitting reply to these forces in near future.
The Minister was addressing a massive public gathering after laying foundation stone of Model village Pallar in district Budgam being constructed by the Department of Rural Development with a estimated cost of Rs. 1.12 crore.
The Minister said that the Government has taken up massive programme of modernizing facilities for people in all the three regions of the State and constructing new model villages in every constituency of the State is a part of these initiatives.
Cautioning people of cynical and divisive politics of opposition parties, the Minister said that they are used to misleading the masses for their ulterior political motives. “They   started spreading the rumors that Panchayats have no power but again our Government fulfilled the promise of putting in place a vibrant Panchayati Raj System. We not only empowered Panchayats but also approved stipend for Panchs and Sarpanchs.
MLA Budgam, Syed Aga Ruhullah while speaking on the occasion said the Government has ensured overall and sustained development of all three regions of the state on an equitable basis. He appealed the people to come forward and avail maximum benefit of various welfare schemes undertaken for their benefit.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Khurshid Ahmed Shah, Director Rural Development, Kashmir, Mir Altaf Ahmad and other concerned officers of district administration, Sarpanchs and Panchs were present at the occasion.
