JAMMU, Dec 19 : Minister for Planning and Development Labour and Employment Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today complimented research scholars for their contribution towards academic pursuits, saying that this will go a long way in meeting the educational requirements of student community as a whole.
Releasing a book ‘Research Methodology’ penned down by Dr. D.R. Kapoor Pooja Sehgal at a well-attended function at Press Club Jammu this morning, the Minister said the Government was committed to encourage literary works aimed at enhancing the education standards in the State.
“We have to give best education to our children so that they can face this competitive world with vigour and confident”, Sadhotra said hoping that the academicians would continue to extend their support in this regard.
Mr. Sadohtra highlighted the practical implications of research in transformation of the society. He said that the role of research in developing new technologies, innovative practices and processes in the fast emerging socioeconomic scenario cannot be over sighted to get the best results.
He reiterated that in the technological age, it is now easy to access, analyse, discuss and make use of research findings for planning.
“Research has given qualitative boost to our institutions, programmes and manpower as well as in redesigning /policies”, he added. He said new strategies to get optimum results from available limited economic resources are being evolved.
Mr. Sadohtra advised the scholars, teaching community and students to focus more on applied research so that the Socio-economic problems of the people can be solved.
He said that the writers Dr. D.R Kapoor and Pooja Sehgal have made a sincere exhaustive and intelligent attempt to elucidate the practical aspects of the research in social sciences.
Dr D.R Kapoor, in his welcome address, mentioned that the contribution of Mr. Sadhotra was significant to socio-economically development of the State and its rich culture.
Prof B.L Raina read the review of the book published in Mangalmay general of education and Pedagogy, institute of Management and Technology, Greater Noida.
Secretary Higher Education, Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed presided over the function.
Member J&K Public Service Commission, K B Jandial, Secretary, Technical Education, Parvez Malik, Secretary Tourism and Culture Zaffar Ahmed Bhat, and various senior officers of Government Departments were present.
