LUDHIANA , Feb 15: Vijay Thakur president and Rajan Gupta general secretary, Shri Amarnath Barfani Langars Organisation (SABLO), have expressed their satisfaction over the decision of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) regarding announcement of dates of holy Yatra which will be held from June 23 to August 3 this year.
In a statement issued here, today they said that the delegation of SABLO had met G C Murmu, Lt. Governor of J&K who is also Chairman of SASB recently & demanded that yatra should be curtailed to 30 days.
They have expressed apprehensions that it will become difficult to start the yatra on the fixed date particularly from Pahalgam route because of heavy & unprecedented snowfall during this season.
Vijay Thakur president and Rajan Gupta general secretary complimented G C Murmu for dropping the proceedings of show cause notices issued to four Bhandara organisations. The delegation had taken up the matter strongly with LG demanding that the proceedings against four members be dropped.
President and general secretary of SABLO informed that they are seeking an appointment with LG for taking up the matter of dropping penal action against some more members to whom the orders have been issued later on.
The duo informed that a General Body meeting of members of SABLO was held at Zirakpur to discuss the issues pertaining to the Bhandaras and yatris with regard to the forthcoming Amarnath Ji yatra 2020.
It said in view of the changed circumstances and abolition of Section 35A and abrogation of Article 370, it was decided that SABLO should take up issue strongly with Murmu for the immediate transfer of 39.88 hectares of forest land to SASB which was approved by the Cabinet during the year 2008.
It said because of the objections and protests by the Hurriyat and other factions, the land transfer to SASB was revoked. The meeting decided that matter be taken up with LG for immediate transfer of the forest land to SASB for the construction of night shelter, infrastructure development like toilets , bathrooms, medical care centres for the benefit of the Yatris.
It demanded allotment and sale of land to Bhandaras on subscribed rates. The meeting decided that at Base Camps and upper camps permission should be given for sale of land to Bhandaras so that temporary and permanent structures can be constructed for use during Amarnathji yatra. It is also requested that since the Bhandaras are engaged in charity work, the land should be provided to them on subsidized rates so that they can erect temporary as well as permanent structures and avoid time and unnecessary expenses every time for this purpose.
The meeting also demanded removal of grill at holy cave so that the yatris can have better Darshan of the Ice Lingam. The grill is a hindrance in the clear darshan of Holy Shivling and Yatris feel cheated and they return with regrets.
The meeting stated that the applications for grant of permission should be submitted jointly through SABLO.
