JAMMU, Sept 24: The KP Sabha Jammu has commended Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha for expediting the recruitment process under the PM package for displaced community.
Sabha in a statement issued here, today said that in its last meeting of the Sabha under the leadership of K K Khosa with the Lt. Governor on September 11 the Sabha was assured that the remaining posts under the PM package out of the total 6000 posts announced way back in 2008 would be filled up expeditiously. “We are grateful that the notification for recruitment of the remaining 1997 posts has been issued and a time line has also been mentioned”. The challenge is going to be to adhere to the time line since our past experiences have been pathetic in this respect. Sabha said“We are also grateful that simultaneously the construction work of transit accommodation for the package employees is also sought to be completed on war footing as is apparent from the recent measures that have been taken in this regard”. The acquisition of land for this purpose would have to be monitored by the Lt.Governor himself to remove any bottlenecks in this regard.
The Sabha had also requested that security and restoration work of places of worship needs to be paid attention and the Lt Governor had also assured that the same would be done. Khosa has expressed his deep gratitude that the restoration work of Raghunath temple has been taken up in right earnest which has been appreciated by the entire community. The work on other vulnerable shrines and temples may also be taken up urgently.
The Sabha president had also urged the Lt. Governor to remove all apprehensions of the community and bring back the core issue of return and rehabilitation in the Valley to the front burner and discuss the matter with the community representatives so that a pragmatic and viable solution could be found to this long pending and now protracted issue. The issue of enacting a legislation for safety and management of all temples and shrines which perpetually remain under a threat of usurpation should also be addressed during this Governor’s rule period.
Meanwhile KPS has condemned the cold blooded assassination of the BDC Chairman of Khag district Budgam S. Bhupinder Singh by terrorists and demanded that the culprits should be brought to book immediately and security beefed up for all political representatives in the Valley.
