Run-away murderer re-arrested from under- construction building of Gandhi Nagar Hospital

JAMMU, Sept 29: A youth, who killed his mother and escaped from the custody of Satwari police station by breaking the window of the bathroom few days back, was re-arrested today from the under construction building of Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police teams constituted by SSP Jammu Uttam Chand conducted raid in the under construction building of Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar and arrested the alcoholic youth, who murdered his mother on July 15 and ran away from the custody of Satwari police station by breaking the window of the bathroom on September 26.
The accused identified as Mohammad Altaf alias Kali, son of Mohammad Latief, a resident of Narwal Pain, Satwari, who was arrested by Satwari police for killing his mother Rani on July 15 was about to leave the State, but police nabbed him and thwarted his designs.
The entire operation was closely monitored by Udhay Bhaskar Billa, SP City South Jammu and Sachin Gupta, SDPO City South to ensure that there was no harassment or panic among the patients undergoing treatment at hospital.
A fresh case under FIR Number 209/15 under Section 224 RPC stands registered against the accused for the escape from the police station.
The arrest was made by SHO Satwari police station Inspector Manjeet Singh and PSI Ashok Bajaj.
As reported earlier, on July 15, the accused forced her mother Rani to consume liquor and later started beating her mercilessly, due to which she received serious head injury and internal organ rupture, leading to her death.
After collecting all the information, a case under FIR Number 200/15 under Section 302 RPC was registered at Satwari police station and after series of raids, police team arrested the son of the deceased lady on September 18.
The accused went to the bathroom and managed his escape after breaking the window on September 26 afternoon.
SSP Jammu Uttam Chand suspended Munshi Girdhari Lal and disengaged an ex-serviceman Chatur Singh for dereliction of duty. A departmental enquiry was also initiated against them.
