RTO suspends 70 driving licences

JAMMU: In compliance to the directions of Committee of Supreme Court of India on Road Safety, the Regional Transport Officer, Jammu, Ashwani Kumar Khajuria today suspended 70 driving licences for a period of three months of various violators which were recommended by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic.

Pertinent to mention here that SSP Traffic, Jammu has recommended more than 250 licences of various violators for suspension booked under different sections like red light jumping, drunken driving and rash driving etc to the RTO and suspension of the rest of driving licences is also under process. Information regarding suspension of the driving licences have been served to all the concerned violators in this regard.

Further, the violators have also been warned not to indulge in driving during suspension period of their driving licences till the suspension for these driving licences is revoked by the RTO Office.

Moreover, Regional Transport Officer has also appealed to the general public to abide by all the traffic rules to make roads safer for the public life.
