JAMMU: Post Police-Gujjar clash in which one civilian was killed, Governor N N Vohra was today briefed about the situation.
Vohra during a meeting held here reviewed about the incident near Sarore village of Samba district and was informed by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Pawan Kotwal that an enquiry to be completed within 15 days, has already been ordered in regard to the incident of firing which had resulted in the death of a civilian and the subsequent Law and Order disturbance, by Rehana Batool, Additional Commissioner.
Governor gave detailed instructions to the Chief Secretary regarding the preparation of a draft plan to re-locate and re-habilitate nomadic tribes who move from place to place.
The Governor, who had separately asked the DGP to send an urgent report in regard to this incident, stressed the need for a detailed operating procedure being evolved for ensuring effective maintenance of Law and Order while dealing with situation of such nature.
Mr Vohra advised the Chief Secretary and DGP to urgently direct the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police to ensure all necessary precautions while taking the required action for removal of encroachments and, side by side, ensuring the maintenance of public order. (AGENCIES)
