UDHAMPUR, Mar 21: RTI activist and president of Jan Sangharsh, Advocate Sanjeet Bavouria has expressed apprehensions of irregularities in proper utilization of funds, released for maintenance of Ramnagar roads.
Referring to inquiry report by ADC Udhampur, according to which there were pot-holes over the Keya road, where tragic road accident had taken place on January 15, 2016, Advocate Bavouria quoted an RTI reply and informed that Rs 4934.09 lakhs were used by the PWD (R&B) Udhampur for improvement of 65 kms long Keya road from Ramnagar to Basantgarh from 1996 to 2015. “Out of the said total amount, Rs 3606.97 lacs were shown used by PWD (R&B) from 2011 to 2015 for the maintenance of Keya road, which remained dilapidated thus leading to accident,” he added and demanded appropriate inquiry into utilization of these funds.
