RSS salutes Chanderkant, says he served nation fearlessly till last breath

JAMMU, Apr 9: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has strongly condemned the attack on its activist Chanderkant Sharma and his PSO by terrorists in Kishtwar today and termed it a serious security lapse.
RSS Sangchalak, Brig (retd) Suchet Singh told reporters here, today that this is the second attack on the minorities and nationalist people in Kishtwar during last six months and termed it a big security lapse.
He said the terrorists were facing threatened from a social activist, Chanderkant who was working for strengthening of democratic structure in the State and who was uniting the nationalist forces.
He said Chanderkant from his childhood was linked to RSS and its social service. He had been assigned various important assignments of social services by the Sangh in the district and presently he was its State Seh Sewa Parmukh. He belonged to a religious minded family whose members besides the religious activities were performing the social services in the area also. He is survived by his wife and two children reading in 10th and 7th class respectively.
Brig Suchet Singh said that Chanderkant had worked a lot to boost the morale of the local people in the area during the peak days of terrorism in the district. He worked for unity among Hindu organizations and with security forces in providing relief to the people hit by terrorism. He was always ready for any social service and help to the nationalist people belonging to any community or caste, he added.
The RSS leader said that Chanderkant himself knew that he is on the radar of terrorists but he never gave in and continued his services to the society and his motherland till his last breath. He said entire nation salutes this brave son of the soil and his martyrdom has given us more strengthen to redouble our resolve to fight the terror from the front.
He said Chanderkant was an inspiration for the youth and a strong willed man who was always ready to serve the people and even under trying circumstances he never backtracked from his duty. He had constructed a temple in Kishtwar by taking the society along with him and on the occasion of Baisakhi he was organizing a fair there every year. His maximum time remained engaged in social works of Sangh. During peak days of terrorism he was active in Hindu Raksha Samiti (HRS).
