Omar, Mehbooba, Khanna, others condemn attack on RSS leader, PSO in Kishtwar

JAMMU, Apr 9: Various political and social leaders have strongly condemned the terrorist attack on RSS leader and his Personnel Security Officer (PSO) at Kishtwar who attained martyrdom today.
Those who strongly condemned the attack on RSS leader and his PSO included former Chief Ministers, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti.
“Unequivocally condemn the brutal murder of Chandrakant & his personal security officer in Kishtwar today, there can be no place for targeting political operatives like this”. “I hope the residents of the area will cooperate with the administration and maintain calm”, Abdullah said in a tweet.
While condemning the killings, Mehbooba Mufti called for a probe into the incident.
“Condemn this act of terror, seems like part of a bigger plan to incite communal tension. She urged Governor, Satya Pal Malik to initiate a probe and appealed to the people of Kishtwar to maintain peace and harmony,” she tweeted.
BJP National vice president and Prabhari J&K Avinash Rai Khanna has also strongly condemned the Kishtwar killings in which the RSS activist Chanderkant Sharma and his PSO attained martyrdom. Khanna in a handout while condemning the barbaric act of terrorists said Chanderkant was a nationalist who has been raising his voice against the anti national elements in erstwhile Doda district and worked to strengthen the patriotic forces besides inducing a sense of security among minorities,. In his martyrdom the State has lost a torch bearer of patriotism and his loss is irreparable, he added.
Senior Congress leader and party candidate from Kathua -Udhampur and Doda constituency, Vikramaditya Singh has also strongly condemned the terrorist attack on RSS leader in which he and his PSO attained martyrdom. In a statement issued here, today Vikramadity has expressed his deep shock and serious concern over the targeted killing of prominent RSS leader and his PSO and described it a most cowardice act which was aimed at disturbing peace and harmony in the area. He demanded that the perpetrators should be identified and brought to book.
BJP State President, Ravinder Raina while strongly condemning the attack termed it a cowardice act of terrorists who were afraid of social work of RSS leader.
National Panthers Party (NPP) supremo, Prof Bhim Singh held the security officials of J&K responsible for attack on RSS activist and his PSO who attained martyrdom at Kishtwar today. He alleged that the administration has reduced the security cover of the protected persons in the State on the pretext of election drama.
Provincial president, National Conference, Devender Sing Rana also strongly condemned the killing of an RSS activist and his PSO in Kishtwar today and demanded immediate and time bound investigation in the incident to unveil the culprits. “This is a heinous crime, which is highly deplorable’ Rana said in a statement issued here while expressing sympathies with the bereaved families and praying for peace of departed souls.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has expressed its shock over the terrorist attack on RSS leader and his PSO in Kishtwar today. State secretary of ABVP Deepak Gupta while condemning the attack in which RSS leader and his PSO attained martyrdom said such attacks are meant to weaken the nationalist forces in the State but made it clear that patriotic forces will be further strengthen due to such wicked and barbaric acts of anti national forces.
In Poonch, VHP and Bajrang Dal activists held a strong protest against the terrorist attack in Kishtwar in which RSS leader and his PSO attained martyrdom.
The protestors torched the effigy of terrorism also.
PK working president, Virender Raina, Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust president Roshan Lal Pandita, KPC chief, Kundan Kashmiri, Samporan Kashmir Sangthan, chairman, Anoop Kaul, its president , Rakesh Koul and its general secretary, Bharat Kachroo and Kashmiri United Displaced Front (KUDF) chief D N Kissu, its chief advisor, Prof G L Koul and president, P L Sudeshi have also strongly condemned the attack and urged the Central Government to further toughen the stand against the terrorists and separatists in the State.
Senior NC leader Pyare Lal Sharma also strongly condemned the terrorist attack on RSS leader and his PSO in Kishtwar and termed it a most cowardice act.
Soon after the RSS leader breathed his last here the agitated BJYM activists from Jammu and Kishtwar held a protest demonstration at Shakuntula Chowk here and disrupted the movement of vehicular traffic. They later marched towards Jewel Chowk raising slogans against terrorism and administration failure in taking preemptive measures to restrict the movements of terrorists. They tried to move towards the Jammu University but the police foiled their bid and took them to Nawabad Police Station. But later they were released.
The protest was led by BJYM leader, Sanjay Parihar and Arun Prabhat. The other prominent activists included Sanjay Sharma Vanchak Sharma and Ranjit Singh.
