NEW DELHI : The Telangana issue had its fallout on the first day of the Monsoon session of Parliament when the Rajya Sabha was adjourned over the matter for the second time today till 1400 hrs.
When the House re-assembled at 1200 hrs after a brief adjournment, two members of the Telugu Desam Party entered the well of the House holding a placard and raised anti-Telangana slogans.
Despite appeals of Deputy Chairman P J Kurien, who was presiding, to allow the House to function, the TDP members raised slogans of ‘We want justice’.
The Chairman initially urged the members to allow smooth running of the House saying zero hour would be taken up tomorrow and only special mentions was being permitted, but the adamant TDP refused to budge from their stand.
Prof Kurien then adjourned the House saying he regretted that the House was being held to ransom by the two members, adding that it was a platform for discussion. (AGENCIES)
