RAJOURI, Aug 28: An annual Border Area Development Programe (BADP) plan of Rs 6.6 crore was today finalized for district Rajouri at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh.
A detailed discussion was held to finalize the sector-wise /component wise annual BADP Plan for the year 2020-21. After a threadbare discussion to prioritize the works, an amount worth Rs 6.06.59 lakh plan was sanctioned for the financial year 2020-21 to be executed by different departments under various schemes.
The DDC highlighted the objective of Border Area Development Programme saying that it aims at to meet the special developmental needs of the people living in border areas by creating essential infrastructure through convergence of all central, state and local schemes.
He asked the concerned officers of line departments to identify the left out pockets of border villages and create development assets in line with laid down BADP guidelines. He stressed on taking works under convergence mode to benefit border dwellers under different schemes/ programmes. He also called for giving due consideration to the demands of local people by involving elected PRI representatives.
