Rs 42 lakh spent on Durga Nag shrine under Smart City: Bakaya

JAMMU, June 3: President Durga Nag Trust (DNT) and former Chief Secretary, Vijay Bakaya has urged the Smart City authorities to give pace to the developmental works undertaken at Durga Nag shrine Dalgate Sriangar.
Bakaya who visited the temple complex inspected the progress of works under the Smart City Project.
He was informed that out of sanctioned Rs 52 lakh for the Project Rs 42 lakh had been spent and Rs10 lakh was sanctioned for paving of the approach road and improvement in drainage.
Bakaya hoped that the Smart City authorities would expedite the work.
He expressed satisfaction over the work of improvement of the temple and upgradation of the utilities in the complex.
Bakaya inspected The Yatri Niwas also. He was informed that cooked food is available on reasonable rate to the customers in their rooms.
Photographs of Ma Durga in the holy temple were displayed in every room, he said .
Bakaya discussed the Audi Report for 2017 to 2020 which has been received. He urged the General Manager and staff to take follow up action on the observations of the CA.
He issued instructions that for security reasons a fencing be erected on the open side of the temple complex immediately and a special drive be launched to recovery of arrears of rent from lessees/ tenants.
Bakaya expressed satisfaction with the maintenance of the Temple and premises and paid obeisance at Ma Durga along with other devotees for peace and prosperity of J&K.
