SRINAGAR, July 15: Security forces at the Srinagar Airport today recovered Rs 40 lakh cash from two passengers who were travelling to Delhi.
A senior official said that two persons Jagan Nath Jaina and Subroto Chakroborty were caught with Rs 40 lakh cash at Srinagar Airport during checking of their luggage at around 2 pm.
The duo had wrapped the cash with cloth in two suitcases and the X-ray machine spotted it at the drop gate. The two suitcases were then manually checked and the cash was recovered.
The duo from Kolkata were flying to New Delhi in Vistara flight. They are being questioned by the Income Tax officials.
