Rs 39 cr Sukrala Mata road approved under CRF

JAMMU, Jan 28: Former Deputy Chief Minister and leader of  BJP Legislative Party Dr. Nirmal Singh during a whirlwind tour of Billawar Constituency reviewed ongoing works and inaugurated a number of developmental programmes today. He inaugurated a factory set up by a local entrepreneur at Dadwara.
Dr. Nirmal Singh distributed cheques worth Rs. 9.60 lakh among the beneficiaries of Integrated Household Slum Area Development Programme out of Rs. 1.27 crore for Billawar town and asked the officials of the Urban Local Bodies to distribute the rest.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nirmal Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid special focus on the development and employment generation in Jammu and Kashmir State. He said that development of road infrastructure in this hilly and backward State has been given major impetus by the Central Government and announced that a Rs. 39 crore project has been sanctioned by the Union Government under Central Road Fund (CRF) for Billawar-Sri Mata Sukrala Devi road. He said that another Rs. 4.25 crore have been sanctioned for double lane upgradation of Billawar to Phinter road.
Dr. Singh hailed the Union Cabinet decision of sanctioning 5 IRP Bns for Jammu and Kashmir State which would provide employment to about 5500 youth. He also appreciated the Union Government decision to reserve 60 per cent of the jobs for Border area youth.
Dr. Nirmal Singh later in a meeting with the Government officials reviewed various ongoing developmental programmes in Billawar constituency and issued directions for speedy and quality execution of the works.
