Rs 18,000 stolen from shrine

POONCH, Dec 19: Donation money worth Rs 18000 along with some other articles, was stolen by some unknown thieves from a famous shrine at Harni in Mendhar Sub Division of district Poonch last night.
A police spokesman said that theft took place at the shrine of Peer Zian Shah Badshah, at Harni on Mendhar-Surankote Road during last night. Some thieves barged into the shrine and broken the three donation boxes installed there in the complex. They decamped with donation money worth about Rs 18,000 cash and some other articles.
The shrine in-charge informed the locals of the area about the matter in the morning. A large number of people assembled there. They informed SHO and Sub Divisional Administration Mendhar about it. SHO and Tehsildar reached the spot and pacified the agitating public, assuring arrest of the accused persons shortly. The police has registered a case in this connection.
