UDHAMPUR, Dec 19: An elderly man died while his wife and young son were critically injured when the car , they were traveling in, was hit by an unknown vehicle on the National Highway at Battal Ballian, early this morning
The deceased was identified as Ashok Kumar (62), son of Lt Nand Lal of Ward number 7 in Ramnagar. His injured son Sahil Kumar (25) and wife Sunita Devi (50) have been admitted at District Hospital Udhampur. Their condition was stated to be stable.
The car bearing registration number PB32K-1350 was on its way from Jammu to Udhampur when it was hit by the unknown vehicle, which was coming from opposite direction on wrong side of the road at Battal Ballian near Royal Enfield Showroom.
The persons traveling in the car received multiple injuries and were rushed to District Hospital Udhampur where Ashok Kumar succumbed to his injuries.
The dead body of the deceased was handed over to the family after post mortem. A case in this regard has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
