Rs 18.50 cr road project sanctioned under CRF for Reasi

REASI, Sept 2: In a significant development, an 11 Km Jij to Narkote via Chakalwala road project has been sanctioned under Central Road Fund (CRF) for district Reasi.
The road would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 18.50 crore which will connect the areas of Prankote, Narkote, Thub, Thanole, Pattian, Chakalwala, Dhakikote, Syan, Jij etc.
The road is a part of 7 road projects sanctioned under CRF for Jammu and Kashmir by the Government of India for the year 2017-18 to strengthen the existing roads network already being laid down under PMGSY and other schemes.
Pertinently, all the villages of Jij and Narkote belts do not have an easy access in all respects and to reach such locations from Tehsil headquarter, the local residents have to undertake one day complete on foot journey and from Sub-Division Dharmari, more than a day time is taken to reach there.
Besides, Narkote and Prankote are located at border of district Reasi which had been devoid of road networks and this road project would certainly facilitate the people of these inaccessible areas with better connectivity.
Moreover, some years ago, one road under PMGSY was constructed up to village Jij of Tehsil Thakrakote and other from Rud bridge to Thakrakote, but both were not extended to extreme of the border of district for the benefit of local people.
