Roop Nagar residents’ concern over increasing thefts

JAMMU, Sept 24: A delegation of residents of Roop Nagar JDA Housing Colony comprising of its Executive members called on SSP Jammu and expressed their concern over the increasing thefts and other crime related cases in the area.
As per a release, they informed him that large number of undesirable people live in the Colony and their movements are doubtful during the odd hours as their credentials are neither known to residents nor the police.
They said that the police is not also maintaining a proper vigil in the area despite it has a roaming squad. The undesirable elements taking advantage of the same strike at will and decamp with valuables and golden ornaments, they added.
Meanwhile, some residents of area visited Excelsior and said that in last 22 days four thefts were reported from the area with burglars decamping with golden ornaments and cash from various residential houses. They said that fear psychosis have gripped the colony as the police has failed to act and arrest the burglars.
