NEW DELHI, Sept 21: Cardamom prices edged higher by 0.50 per cent to Rs 1,144.50 per kg in futures market today as speculators built up fresh positions amid uptick in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October rose by Rs 5.70, or 0.50 per cent to Rs 1,144.50 per kg in business turnover of 5 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in November contracts gained Rs 3.10, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 1,120 per kg in 44 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures to fresh positions created by traders due to pick up in demand in the physical market, mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
