Road accidents

Sir,
Road accidents are happening on an alarming rate at every nook and corner of our city.  The most unfortunate thing is that we don’t learn from our mistakes while driving. Maximum crashes and deaths on road take place when drivers overtake vehicles on the roads. However, in metropolitan cities the traffic rules are being followed judiciously by the drivers to some extent but in our city there is least adherence of traffic rules when it comes to driving.  Even the educated ones are making mockery of everything when it comes to driving protocols. It’s shocking and very agonizing that the matador drivers in our city generally indulge in rash driving and overtaking each other just for making few more bucks.  Local matadors drivers on the Bohri Talab Tillo route to Jewel chowk are notorious for such kind of rash driving. There is no  fixed stoppages for these matadors and the drivers often stop their vehicles anywhere as per their will.  The recent tragic accident near Bahu Fort road haunts everyone in which 16 years old girl lost both of her legs and is still battling for her life in hospital. The traffic authorities have become just mute spectators while watching all this happening around.  They have just become watchdogs and are least bothered by such kind of reckless driving by these matador drivers. The concerned traffic authorities are not much vigilant while performing their duties. They are only concerned about making challans of bike riders. There is an urgent need to address this problem. Some stringent laws needs to be enforced by the traffic authorities at the earliest and those found violating the traffic rules must be severely punished.
Yours etc….
