Leh, May 9, 2024: The Returning Officer, 1-Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency, Santosh Sukhadeve and Assistant Returning Officer, Postal Ballot, Sonam Nurboo conducted a meeting with the representatives of the political parties and the representative of the independent candidate today on May 9.
The meeting was held to inform the contesting candidates about the postal ballot services for essential service voters and absentee voters which includes 85+ and PWD voters.
Returning Officer, Santosh Sukahdeve informed the representatives that postal voting centers will be set up for the essential service voters and the centers will be in Diskit, Tangste, Khaltse, Nyoma and Leh. He also informed that polling teams will be visiting the homes of absentee voters which includes 85+ and PWD voters.
Additionally, he added that the list of these voters will be shared with the political parties and they can send a polling agent to these locations if they want.
Deputy District Election Officer, AG Zargar and Naib Tehsiladar, Election, Tsewang Dorjey were present during the meeting.
