Rly services still hit, 7 trains cancelled

JAMMU, Aug 28: The Railways service remained partially affected even today as 13 trains did not arrive here since last night while seven have been cancelled in view of law and order problem in Punjab and Haryana.
A Northern Railway spokesman said that even after four days of violence, the normal Railways services could not be restored in the region. He said that thirteen trains did not arrive here from Delhi and other destinations. These trains were not allowed to move as precautionary measures in view of the court verdict announced today with regard to rape case on Dera Sacha Sauda chief, Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
The spokesman further revealed that seven outgoing trains were cancelled today by the Northern Railway authorities here. They are- 19224 Jammu-Ahmedabad Express, 19226 Jammu-Bathinda Express, 11078 Jhelum Express, 16317 Himsagar Express; 13152 Sialdah Express, 12331 Himgiri Express and 16032 Janambhoomi Express.
He said 12 trains were operated today from Katra, Udhampur and Jammu stations and some trains are likely to arrive here tonight. He said the departure timing of the trains remained the same. He further disclosed that Shiv Shakti Express left for New Delhi from here at 12.30 am while Malwa Express at its scheduled time 9 am.
In view of the cancellation of trains, huge rush of passengers has been generated at Jammu and Katra Railway Stations. The inter-state buses service also remained partially affected today but private sleeper coaches are plying normally.
