JAMMU, Oct 4: Radio Kashmir Jammu (RKJ) and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) felicitated ND Jamwal, a veteran Dogri writer, poet and artist during Jharokha-8 at KL Saigal Hall, here today.
HC Jalmeria, Senior Advocate presided over the function and Satish Vimal, a prominent writer of Hindi, Urdu and Kashmiri Languages graced the occasion as chief guest. VK Sambyal, Director, RKJ and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL were also present.
In his presidential address, H C Jalmeria said that RKJ and JKAACL deserve appreciation for Jharokha programme which not only has earned a big popularity but it has also succeeded in creating an interest amongst the youth towards art, culture and literature.
Satish Vimal appreciated the role of JKAACL for its initiative of felicitating the icons of different fields of art, culture and languages. This sends positive message to the society and also creates a cordial atmosphere, he added.
While speaking, ND Jamwal said that the work done with dedication and commitment automatically brings positive results.
Dr Rattan Lal Basotra, Assistant Editor in the Academy presented a detailed paper on the life and works of ND Jamwal.
Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri read out the citation, which was presented to ND Jamwal.
Earlier, while delivering the welcome address, VK Sambyal said that participation in the programme Jharokha is getting momentum day-by-day which itself speak about the importance of the programme. He hoped for such response from the concerned sectors in future also.
In the end, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn presented vote of thanks.
Raj Kumar Behrupia conducted the proceedings of the programme.
