This has reference to the article ‘The rise of ISIS’ July 9.
The rise of ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) is certainly a great threat to world peace. The first fallout of its rise is lawlessness in Iraq and consequent migration of people towards safe places.
The next fallout is sharp increase in crude oil prices. In India, the steep hike in petroleum products is affecting common people with essential edible items witnessing sharp hike in prices. In case ISIS is not checked now, it will spread its tentacles elsewhere. The world community should come together at this crucial juncture to meet this monster.
The Government of India must also make an assessment of its rise. Though at this time there is no immediate threat to India, the consolidation of ISIS may pose problems in the future.
