POONCH, Sept 29: Heavy traffic load is being witnessed from last two days on Mughal Road in Surankote Sub Division of Poonch due to movement of heavy trucks loaded with apples.
SDPO Surankote Tanveer Jeelani, DySP Traffic Rajouri-Poonch Syed Aftab Hussain along with other Police and Traffic officers are on the job to manage the movement round the clock, while Deputy Commissioner Poonch and Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch also visited to access the situation.
A senior Police official said that Bufliaz to Surankote road stretch is under construction while the number of apple loaded vehicles have increased from previous 2-3 days which leads to traffic jams on the road.
He said that Police and Traffic officials are deployed to manage the traffic movement, allowing turn by turn movement of both sides in Baffliaz, Behramgala and other locations.
“About 100 empty trucks have been halted between Jaranwali Gali and Surankote, bound for Kashmir and we are trying our best for smooth movement of traffic on this road,” he added.
