JAMMU, Mar 17: Nagrota Police arrested a rider and pillion rider along with large quantity of illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on reliable information about smuggling of liquor, a team from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar laid a naka and intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK06A-0169.
During checking, police team recovered 50 quarters and one bottle of illicit liquor from the possession of rider and pillion rider and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Romey Qureshi, son of Mohd Ashraf Qureshi of District Doda, at present Kargil Colony, Bathindi District Jammu and Ashwani Sharma, son of Pitamber Lal Sharma of Peer Mitha District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 106/2022 under Section 48 (A) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
