Rich tributes paid to Handwara martyrs

HANDWARA (Kupwara): Rich tributes were on Sunday paid to five security force personnel, including a Colonel and a Major, who were martryred in an encounter with security forces in 12-hour-long encounter in this frontier district.
Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir range Vijay Kumar and Sector Commander of Army besides other senior officers from security agencies paid floral tributes to martyrs here.
The mortal remains of the soldiers will be flown to Srinagar before being airlifted to their natives places. A police spokesman said this afternoon that heartfelt tributes were paid to Col Ashutosh Sharma, Commanding Officer (CO) 21 Rashitriya Rifles (RR), Major Anuj, Sub Inspector J&K police Sageer Ahmad Qazi, LanceNaik Dinesh, Naik Rajesh for supreme sacrifices in line of duty.
He sai IGP Kashmir, Sector Commander, Deputy Inspector General (IGP) North Kashmir and SP Handwara paid tributes to heroes at Langate in Handwara. (AGENCIES)
