JAMMU, June 13: Rich tributes were paid to veteran Congress leader Chuni Lal Sharma former Deputy Chairman Legislative Council and former District President Congress Jammu (Urban) in a meeting held today at PCC Headquarters here to commemorate his 24th death anniversary. Anil Chopra, President District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban) presided over the meeting.

Former Ministers Sham Lal Sharma- senior vice president PCC and Raman Bhalla-vice president, Kanta Bhan- vice president, Ravinder Sharma-chief spokesperson, Krishan Lal Gupta, Lalita Sharma, Shiv Kumar Sharma (INTUC), Madan Lal Malagar, Dr Rama Kant Khajuria, Kirti Gupta, Ram Prakash, Karuna Devi, Jai Dev Sharma, P S Chohan, Th Rachpal Singh, Gourav Chopra, Naresh Maini, Ch Maqbool, Manmohan Sharma, Sushil Sharma, Chanchal Dogra, Bodh Raj Sharma, Raj Kumar Sodi and Pradeep Bhagat were the prominent who paid tributes to Sharma. Several family members of late Chuni Lal Sharma also attended the function they include Chander Deep Sharma, Surinder Sharma, Mohinder Sharma, Naresh Sharma and Rajesh Sharma.
The leaders while paying tributes to Sharma described him as a symbol of simplicity, honesty, humbleness and dedicated Congress leader who in his whole life worked for strengthening the party. Sharma fought communal forces to uphold the banner of secularism and socialism, the leaders added. They said he (Sharma) was a committed Congressman and worked with devotion to help the poor, downtrodden and neglected sections of the society.
On the occasion V K Sharma (Advocate) joined Congress party. He was welcomed by Senior leaders of PCC and district president Anil Chopra in party.
