JAMMU, Oct 24: Rich tributes were paid to BSF martyr Sushil Kumar at BSF Headquarters this afternoon.
Late HC Sushil Kumar who martyred during heavy firing from across the border last night, was instrumental in suppressing counterpart firing by giving befitting reply from his post.
Brave soldier sustained bullet injury on the chest in cease fire violation by Pakistan on intervening night of October 23 and 24. Individual was immediately evacuated to GMCH Jammu where doctor declared him as brought dead at 0130 hrs.
In ceasefire violation from Pakistan side along the International Boundary from R S Pura to Pargwal area,  two more BSF personnel sustained minor injury  namely ASI R D Puri and Constable Ayyappa Babu who are presently admitted in hospital.
The wreath laying ceremony was organised at FTR  HQ BSF  Camp Paloura Jammu and rich tribute were paid to brave soldier late HC Sunil Kumar. K K Sharma, DG, BSF, specially came from Delhi, Arun Kumar, ADG BSF Western Command Chandigarh,  Rajeev Krishna IG (Operation) FHQ, D K Upadhyay IG BSF Jammu, Pawan Kotwal Divisional Commissioner Jammu,  IG Jammu Police Danish Rana, DIG CRPF along  with BSF officers and men paid floral tribute to the Martyr BSF Ftr HQ in Jammu.
On this occasion DG BSF  said that BSF has the history of bravery and this brave act has once again  proved that Bordermen are always ready  to sacrifice their  life, if comes to the nation security.
Chandra Prakash Ganga Minister of Industry and Commerce of J & K also paid such tribute to the Martyred.
DG BSF further said that his sacrifice shall be remembered forever. DG BSF reiterated that as a peaceful country we never initiated fire from our side but will never hesitate to give befitting reply if we will be compelled to resort fire.
Cremation of Martyred will be done at his native village-Pihowa, Distt- Kurukshetra-Hariyana tomorrow morning at 10 am.
