Revisit decision of Amarnath Yatra cancellation: AJHLA to Govt

JAMMU, July 5: All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association (AJHLA) office bearers here today in a virtual meeting chaired by Inderjeet Khajuria, Association Chairman expressed serious concern over the plight of tourism fraternity whose business has been badly hit by COVID pandemic and lockdowns.
Speakers in the meeting claimed that there is no respite to their business even after the un-locking of restrictions.
They also said that it has become difficult for them to even make two ends meet due to which their families are compelled to sell their jewellery to meet the crisis.
Pawan Gupta, Association president hailed the Government for allowing reopening of restaurants, bars, indoor sports complexes with 50 per cent capacity with some conditions in 13 districts of J&K.
“This relaxation would definitely give some relief to crisis ridden hoteliers,” he maintained.
The Association urged upon the Government to revisit the decision of Shri Amarnath Yatra cancellation.
Speakers in the meeting said, when Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji Yatra is in progress and all other temples and religious places are open, why the Government is depriving Shri Amarnath Ji devotees from the pilgrimage.
Other office bearers present in the meeting were M.L Sharma, Anil Khajuria, Pritam Sharma, H.S Manhas, Baldev Raj, Sunil Suri, Swarn Singh, Sankul Gupta, Manpreet Singh, Nishant Gupta and Varun Gupta.
