Revenue officer’s son kidnapped, recovered

MENDHAR, July 31: The police claimed to have recovered the young son of a Revenue officer  who was allegedly kidnapped by some youth from Mendhar area of district Poonch late last evening.
Abdul Kabir,  presently posted as Naib Tehsildar at Harni, lodged report with the Mendhar police that his son, Parvez Musharraf (20), undergoing Degree in Agriculture outside the State came home two days ago.  He was sent by him in the Swift car to purchase some medicines from Mendhar market  in the evening. He also gave him Rs 500 currency note for the purpose. As the boy did not return home late in the evening, they got worried.
Kabir told that his mobile phone was also found switched off and they got more worried and started search for him. During search along with other relatives and boys of the locality they found their  Swift car abandoned near BDO office Mendhar during night.
After the police recovered car, they sounded alert on all the nakas points and Police Stations and  Posts. His father later received a call that his son has been kidnapped and his life was in danger, then the caller switched off the phone.  He also narrated this matter to police.  The police started tracing the number and location which was found to be some where near Chingus in Rajouri.
Today, the police claimed to have  traced and recovered the boy from Chingus area. Three youth in an Alto car (without number)  had kidnapped the boy from Mendhar area. The police said that detained youth have been placed under sustained interrogation and the motive behind the kidnapping is being ascertained. Money is not seems to be the motive behind this act. Investigation was in progress, a Police  officer added.
